Privacy policy

Version 2026-09-12.1 · Effective September 12, 2026

Peach Pie Labs LLC. operates OttoHelper. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our app and website. Contact us at legal@peachpielabs.com.

Information we collect

When you sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and any name or email address Apple shares with us, including a private relay address if you choose one. We store session credentials to keep you signed in.

We store vehicle details you provide, such as make, model, year, VIN, mileage, photos, and maintenance information. We also store uploaded documents and images, extracted information, service records, estimates, notes, and your AI conversations. Documents may contain names, addresses, phone numbers, prices, or other personal information. Upload only information you are entitled to share.

Our service providers and infrastructure process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, account or record identifiers, error information, and AI usage counts to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Information you send to our support email is used to respond to your request.

How we use information

We use this information to manage your garage, organize and export records, process documents, suggest maintenance, answer your questions, maintain sessions, prevent abuse, and provide support. OttoHelper is a Free plan. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

AI processing and your permission

OttoHelper may use AI models from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, or Google (Gemini) to process document images and text, help identify vehicles, suggest maintenance, and answer questions. Before AI processing begins, the app identifies these potential AI providers and asks for your explicit permission. The provider used depends on the feature and configuration and may change among these named providers. Relevant messages, document contents, and vehicle and service-history details, including VINs and personal information present in documents, may be included in requests to those providers.

You can decline at onboarding or withdraw consent in Settings. Because AI is part of the app’s core functionality, you must consent to enter the main app. After withdrawal, new AI requests stop; requests already transmitted cannot be recalled. You can still access support, sign out, or delete your account. Adding a provider beyond those covered by your consent or materially expanding sharing requires renewed permission.

AI providers process and may retain requests under their applicable service terms, including for security and abuse prevention. We do not promise zero retention. See Anthropic’s privacy information, OpenAI’s business and API data privacy information, and Google’s Gemini API terms. Listing a provider in this policy does not mean your information is sent to every listed provider; the consent screen identifies the providers covered by your permission.

Other service providers

We use Apple for sign-in, Cloudflare for hosting, document/image storage and processing, and PlanetScale for database hosting. When you request a VIN lookup, we send that VIN to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-decoding service. These providers process information to deliver their services. We require service providers that handle personal information on our behalf to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable obligations. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.

Retention and deletion

We retain account content while your account is active so that your records remain available. Items moved to Trash are normally retained for 30 days unless permanently deleted sooner. You can request account deletion inside the app, including from the consent screen.

Account deletion immediately removes access and starts deletion of live account data and uploaded files, together with revocation of Sign in with Apple authorization. Background cleanup can take longer when uploads are in progress or a provider is unavailable. Limited deletion receipts are retained for 90 days after completion to confirm and troubleshoot cleanup.

Deleted information can remain temporarily in restricted backups, security logs, and previously transmitted provider requests according to their retention cycles and applicable legal obligations. Live-data deletion does not mean every backup or external-provider copy is erased immediately. Retention depends on operational recovery, security, and legal needs. Contact us with questions about deletion or retention.

Your choices and security

You can review and edit supported records, export service history, manage camera/photo access through iOS, withdraw AI consent, and delete your account. Contact us for other access, correction, or deletion requests; we may need to verify account ownership.

We use encrypted network connections, access controls, and protected device storage for private account files and credentials. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.

Children and policy changes

OttoHelper is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate. Additional provider eligibility requirements may apply to AI features.

We may update this policy as the service changes. We publish each revised policy with a new version and effective date, preserve earlier versions, and ask you to review and accept the new policy before continuing to use the app. Your acceptance records identify the version you reviewed.
